Shrine kicks off 75th year with fundraiser concert

Please the eyes, ears and soul with a fundraiser concert to benefit the Shrine of St. Therese Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. at the Shrine of St. Therese Chapel.

The concert will feature music by the Alaska Youth Choir, Mis Ain’t Behavin’ and Mary Desmet and Doug Burger, and will be a kickoff for a year-long celebration of the Shrine’s 75th anniversary, offically Oct. 28, when the chapel cornerstone was laid and blessed by Bishop Crimont. The event will cost a donation of $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students with a valid ID, $10 for children under 12. Children 2 and under may attend free of charge. The proceeds from the concert will benefit the Shrine, located at 21425 Glacier Hwy (mile 23). For more information please contact Deirdre Darr, Executive Director, at or at 780-6112.
