Free computer classes for November

The Learning Connection at 210 Ferry Way offers free computer classes and labs for adults. The classes available for November are:

 

Intermediate Microsoft Word meets Monday and Wednesday evenings, Nov. 4 – Nov. 27, from 5-7 p.m.  This course is designed for intermediate level students and will cover newsletters, using styles, mail merge, research papers and brochures. This is a great class if you have taken our first level or used Word in another setting.

Living in a Digital World – Learn to Use the Tools

for “Cloud-based” Computing and Social Networking meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Nov. 5 – Nov. 26, from 5-7 p.m.

The course will include these and more: Google Calendar, Drive, Sites (for web pages), Photos and Chrome; Social Networking sites Facebook, Pinterest and Linked-In; E-Commerce sites EBay, Craigslist, etc.; and Security — come to all classes or pick nights covering your topic. Students attending should have a basic understanding of computers and exposure to the internet.

Job Search, Resume Creation, Using ALEXsys, Keyboarding

and Open Lab Computer Training Open Lab - Individual and small group instruction available for computer skills and online job search guidance

These open labs are Mondays 9-11 a.m. and Tuesdays 8:30-10 a.m. — this will be in an open lab/instructor type format.

In the ALEXsys Job Search Workshop, students will learn to use the ALEXsys online tools to conduct a job search and build resumés, it is co-facilitated with the Juneau Job Center staff and held at TLC Thursdays Nov. 7 and Nov. 21 from 10 a.m.-noon
