Exploratory meeting for Doctors of American Revolution chapter

An exploratory meeting will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Mendenhall Valley Library for those interested in starting a chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Organizer Regina Fallace presents it as an opportunity to “have fun while it promotes historic preservation, education and patriotism.” DAR is a nonprofit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., and boasting 175,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the U.S. and internationally. Any woman 18 years or older-regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background-who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership.  More information about DAR can also be found at www.dar.org or on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/TodaysDAR.  Help is available for your family tree research needed for the application.
