SEARHC adds three providers to Juneau clinic

The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is pleased to announce that earlier this month, the organization added three providers to the Ethel Lund Medical Center in Juneau.

One of them, Dr. Matt Taintor, MD, is not new to SEARHC, but has made the move from the SEARHC S’áxt’ Hít Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka to ELMC in Juneau. Dr. Taintor’s specialties are Pediatrics and Internal Medicine and will be filling a six-month vacancy as the clinic’s new Pediatrician.

Dr. Taintor earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and he completed a combined internal medicine/pediatrics residency at the University of Utah. He also holds undergraduate degrees in psychology and biology from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn. Before he completed medical school, Dr. Taintor lived in Juneau where he worked with Juneau Youth Services and spent time as a fly-fishing guide. Dr. Taintor’s personal interests include playing outdoors with his children, fly-fishing, and hunting. He says, “My wife and I are really happy to be back in Juneau.”

SEARHC also welcomes two new physicians to the organization. Dr. Jessica Porter and Dr. Keegan Jackson.

Dr. Jessica Porter whose specialty is Family Medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of California Davis where also did her Family Medicine and Obstetrics residencies. Dr. Porter also holds a Bachelor of Science, which she earned at California State, Chico. Her professional interests are obstetrics and C-sections, and her personal interests include running, hiking and international travel. SEARHC is very pleased to now be able to offer cesarean sections to patients that require it in Juneau instead of referring to a private practice physician in town.

Dr. Keegan Jackson’s specialty is also Family Medicine and she earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, Mich. And did her residency with Duluth Family Medicine Residency in Duluth, Minn. Dr. Jackson’s medical interests are geriatric medicine, women’s health and preventative medicine. Her personal interests include traveling, hiking and curling.

SEARHC is grateful to be able to add such great medical talent to its staff.
