A Thanksgiving meal was served Tuesday evening as part of a Family Night put on by The Learning Connection @ Gruening Park, full of family, friends, TLC staff and volunteers, plus volunteers from the Common Ground Church. The event that night, held at the Gruening Park Recreation Hall, included a full Thanksgiving meal, fun activities for children, including coloring and literacy activities, and an opportunity for everyone to share what they are thankful for by writing on construction paper leaves that could be taped to a paper tree fastened to the wall.

TLC @ Gruening Park offers adult education, early childhood care and an after school homework club, in addition to a monthly Family Night with food and literacy activities.

TLC @ Gruening Park is a program of SERRC - Alaska’s Educational Resource Center. For more information about the program, visit or call 586-6806.
