Helping Hands offers wrap service, food bags for holiday season

Helping Hands is currently looking for volunteers to help with their present wrapping service at Fred Meyer, which will be offered to the public through Dec. 24. Volunteers should stop by their table at Fred Meyer to sign up.

The local organization has also partnered with Safeway to sell pre-made holiday bags containing a variety of food items. They are in need of turkeys and hams to fill some of the Christmas bags. Betty Kaplor, of Helping Hands, said the donations can have a powerful impact on assisting families in need throughout the community, especially during the holiday season.

Those in need of donations, or those who would like to help, should contact Kaplor at 789-4390,

The Helping Hands facility is open twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Switzer Recreational Center at 6590 Glacier Highway.
