Julie Moe, a local Realtor with ReMax of Juneau, recently presented a check for $719.80 to the Mendenhall River Elementary School PTO. Moe decided to donate a percentage of her commissions to local schools in conjunction with the recent closing of a transaction with Robin Potter, the city assessor.
Potter chose Mendenhall River Elementary School PTO to be the recipient because she has two grandchildren, Eli and Samantha Mead, that attend the school. Potter also chose to donate a matching amount to her grandchildren’s school.
Moe said her decision to donate comes at a time when schools are losing funding, cutting programs and laying off great teachers.
“Our schools need our support now more than ever” Moe said. “This is the greatest fundraiser ever! Naturally, the support benefits students, but it also benefits teachers, families and everyone in the community.”
