Southeast Alaska Independent Living is seeking a college intern for spring semester 2014. This college-credit eligible internship will be through SAIL’s ORCA Program in the Juneau office.
Serving nearly 200 individuals thought Southeast Alaska last year, the ORCA program has provided quality adaptive and therapeutic recreation to individuals of all ages who experience a disability.
Interns must currently be enrolled in a college degree program, possess an intermediate level of cross-country or downhill ski or snowboard skills, and be able to commit to 10-15 hours per week throughout the academic year. The intern must also demonstrate experience and/or interest in a variety of outdoor pursuits as well as an interest in working with people experiencing disabilities.
Benefits include a monetary stipend, Eaglecrest season pass or lift tickets, and the potential to earn college credit. ORCA program staff will work with the intern and their class schedule to meet the requirements for stipend reimbursement.
