Helping Hands thanks

Helping Hands would like to thank the many businesses and individuals that provided donations so generously during the past holiday season. The many donors include but are not limited to the following:

Store Director Stephan Sowell of Safeway, the employees and also all the customers that participated in the food drive through the holiday season. It was an excellent collection of non-perishable food items that went a long way toward filling up our vacant shelves.

Wildflower Court for the non-perishable foods and other items which they collected and contributed.

Bartlett Regional Hospital for the canned food drive they sponsored for Helping Hands, as well as the cash and gift cards donated.

Channel Construction for all the turkeys donated for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Fred Meyer for allowing Helping Hands to set up a gift wrapping station in the store and to all the customers who asked our volunteers to wrap their gifts for donations.

Women of the Moose for their cash donation during the holidays.

Auke Bay Co-op for their efforts in conducting a toy and food drive.

The holiday season has drawn to a close but the need for non-perishable food items, as well as cash donations to maintain operations, is always present. If you would like to contribute anytime during 2014 please contact Betty at 789-4390. You may also use that number if you or someone you know is in need of food. Helping Hands is open for food distribution every Tuesday and Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and there is no fee charged.

Again, Helping Hands would like to thank all those who contributed food, time, effort and/or money to make the 2013 holiday season brighter for those in need in the Juneau community. Please know that your continued support is most appreciated. May your New Year be all you want it to be!
