A huge heartfelt thanks to the people of Juneau and beyond for their generosity during our annual Light-Up-a-Life fundraiser that directly supports our Hospice and Home Care programs. The mailings went out and the trees went up over the Thanksgiving weekend and they gradually were filled with names on stars and candles for loved ones who have passed away and the shining lights in our lives who are still living. Your donations allow us to serve anyone who comes in need of our services regardless of their ability to pay. We are so grateful to be able to do this and not turn anyone away and it is only through the generosity of people like you that we are able to do so!
Many hands helped in making this event happen and be a huge success. Thanks go to Dale Kelley, students of Yaakoosge Daakahidi and teacher Ryia Walder, students of Juneau Community Charter School, volunteers of our Respite program, Linda Harris and Jim Shakoske for all their assistance with our mailing and stuffing of envelopes. Thanks to Marg Hedges and Marie Palmer for their help with making ornaments to hang from the trees. They were beautiful! Thanks to the Nugget Mall for their yearly support in hosting our trees and table this holiday season. Thanks also to Hallmark managers for assisting with the storage of our supplies during the week, and a very special thanks go to all the volunteers who helped by being a voice for our programs while sitting at our table, collecting donations and decorating our trees. Your time and efforts were so greatly appreciated!
Once again, thank you to all the businesses and individuals who gave so generously to our programs this season. These funds will truly light up a life and make a difference to many in the coming year!
