Southeast Science Fair

The 2014 Southeast Alaska Regional Science Fair will be held on Saturday, March 1 at the Marie-Drake Gymnasium. The public open house will be held Saturday from 12-1:30 p.m. There will also be a public preview on Friday evening, Feb. 28, from 5-8 p.m., though the students are not required to attend their projects at that time. In conjunction with the fair, on Friday evening at 7 p.m., the Friends of the Marie Drake Planetarium will host “Dark Matter, Dark Energy, and the Fate of the Universe,” free for all ages. The fair is open to all Southeast Alaska high school students and has competitors from both Juneau high schools, Petersburg, Skagway and Angoon. Come see what these bright young minds have been working on this past year! For more information, contact Lawrence Schaufler at 209-8000.
