Free March computer classes at TLC

The Learning Connection offers free computer classes each month at its Ferry Way location. March classes will include:

 

Living in a Digital World

Learn to use the tools for “Cloud-based” computing and social networking. This class meets Monday and Wednesday evenings, March 3- March 26, from 5-7 p.m., and will include: Google Calendar, Drive, Sites (for web pages) and Chrome; social networking sites Facebook and Linked-In; and Security. Students should have a basic understanding of computers and exposure to the internet.

Intermediate Microsoft Word

This course meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings, March 4 – March 25, from 5-7 p.m.This course is designed for intermediate level students and will cover newsletters, using styles, mail merge, research papers and brochures. This is a great class if you have taken TLC’s first level or used Word in another setting.

Job Search, Resume Creation, Using ALEXsys, Keyboarding and Open Lab Computer Training

This is an open lab. Individual and small group instruction is available for computer skills and online job search guidance Mondays from 9-11 a.m. and Tuesdays from 8:30-10 a.m.

In the ALEXsys Job Search Workshop, students will learn to use the ALEXsys online tools to conduct a job search and build resumes, it is co-facilitated with the Juneau Job Center staff and held at The Learning Connection on Thursday, March 13, from 10 a.m.-noon.

Registration for classes can be done on the first night of classes. No registration is needed for open lab and daytime training classes. For more information, call 586-5718 or visit serrc.org/tlc.
