ANCHORAGE — The 425 employees at Northrim Bank and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Residential Mortgage, are looking back on the contributions made during the past year. As a local community bank and mortgage company, Northrim and Residential take their commitments to Alaska very seriously. Employees are proud to be Alaskan and show their pride by supporting local organizations throughout the year with financial support as well as donating their time and expertise.

In October, employees participated the annual United Way Campaign and raised over $150,000 to support local communities throughout Alaska and in Washington state. This total includes direct donations from employees and Northrim’s 50 percent match for employee gifts to United Way.

Bank employees also volunteer in their local communities. Employees give generously of their time to support organizations that help strengthen the community and make Alaska a better place to live, work and play.

“Our employees demonstrated their generosity and team-work with their support of many organizations throughout the year,” Joe Schierhorn, president and CEO, said in a statement.

Northrim Bank also gives a large amount to support Alaska organizations. Each year, Northrim Bank focuses its corporate giving on organizations that help in community and economic development, programs to strengthen low income families, and higher education through the State of Alaska’s Education Tax Credit Program. During 2016, Northrim Bank contributed just over $500,000 to organizations throughout Alaska.

In 2017, bank employees, the Board of Directors and executive leadership are proud to share with the communities throughout Alaska. The bank will also continue to encourage its employees to be involved in the community and share their expertise and passion.
