Thank you, Chapel by the Lake

Rev. Tari Stage-Harvey board chair and Shannon Fisher Executive Director thank Rev. Douglas Dye (left) and church administrator Jessica Rider (right) for Chapel by the Lake’s support of Family Promise

Family Promise of Juneau is a community response to local family homelessness. We utilize faith and civic communities to provide overnight hospitality to families experiencing homelessness. More than 18 groups support this mission, providing meals, space, volunteers, and resources.

Within the last year we have trained more than 300 community members in the dynamics of poverty, homelessness, how to be trauma informed, and the Family Promise model, which has a proven impact on helping families attain sustainable housing.

We are beyond thankful for all of those involved in making Family Promise happen. In particular, Chapel by the Lake took a chance on us. Thank you for allowing us to use your space for our day center. Often we bring lots of little giggles, but sometimes there are also crying babies, and Chapel by the Lake has given space for families to be families within their church home.

Shannon Fisher,

Executive Director of Family Promise of Juneau
