Glacier Swim Club begins fundraising event

Starting today, the Glacier Swim Club is diving into its annual fundraising event, Aqualaps.

Over the next few weeks, swimmers in the program will collect donations from family, friends, neighbors and anyone in the Juneau community looking to help support the club. Swimmers will be at Fred Meyer, Foodland, Superbear and locations at the Wharf.

Glacier Swim Club, founded in 1973, offers swimming programs for children ages 5-18 as well as a program for older people.

In exchange for donations, members of the club will On May 12, GSC members will participate in a Lap Day event where each swimmer will swim anywhere from 75-300 laps to meet their pledge responsibilities. Swimmers will also perform a spring cleanup throughout the community.
