The Alaska Historical Commission awarded nearly $100,000 in grants for 11 projects around the state, at its meeting last week in Juneau. The projects chosen are to promote research and planning for upcoming anniversaries to significant events and places in Alaska’s history.
The recipients include:
• Rasmuson Library, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Cold War oral history project.
• St. George Episcopal Church, Red Dragon Reading Room historic building assessment.
• Port Chilkoot, Fort Seward barracks interpretive signs.
