After 34 years with Alaska Electric Light &Power, President and General Manager Tim McLeod is retiring this year, effective July 1.

In his final days with the company, McLeod is looking back at his decades of service. He’ll be speaking at the Juneau Chamber of Commerce luncheon at noon today, giving a presentation entitled, “A 34-Year Retrospective on AEL&P.” The weekly luncheon is held at the Juneau Moose Lodge near the airport, with admission of $20 for Chamber of Commerce members and $25 for non-members. An RSVP is required.

McLeod joined the company in 1983 as the Assistant Transmission and Distribution Engineer, earning a promotion to Vice President six years later. In 2001, he also became the company’s secretary and treasurer, and a year later he took over for Bill Corbus as President and General Manager.

In 2014, Avista Corp., a Washington-based energy company, acquired AEL&P. Connie Hulbert will take over for McLeod on July 1. Hulbert has been with the company since 1996 and is currently Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer, just as McLeod was.
