Passengers traveling by state ferry this weekend may have to reschedule plans as an Alaska Marine Highway Ferry canceled weekend sailings after identifying mechanical issues on one of their ferries.
The M/V Leconte, one of AMHS’ smaller ferries, will undergo repairs this weekend, according to a Department of Transportation release.
AMHS is contacting affected passengers. Two sailings were canceled, a Juneau-Angoon-Tenakee-Juneau trip on Saturday and a Juneau-Haines-Skagway-Haines-Juneau run on Sunday. Friday sailings were also canceled.
DOT expects to have the ferry up and running again Monday.
