CBJ looking for municipal lobbyists

The City and Borough of Juneau is looking for a state lobbyist ahead of the annual legislative session.

Those interested in municipal lobbying for the CBJ are asked to mail a letter of interest, resume and fee expectations to City Manager Kim Kiefer. That address is 155 South Seward, Juneau, Alaska 99801. It can also be emailed to kim_kiefer@ci.juneau.ak.us.

All applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, and questions should be directed to the city manager’s office. Applicants are expected to define the terms of their employment including duration and compensation of the work.

In the past, a year contract has paid about $60,000, but that is negotiable, City Manager Kim Kiefer said.

The annual legislative session is set to convene on Tuesday, Jan. 21 of next year, and will run until mid-April.
