A memorial tribute for the late Judge Robert Boochever will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, inside the Dimond Courthouse in downtown Juneau.
The Alaska Supreme Court, the Alaska Bar Association and the Juneau Bar Association are sponsoring the event, according to a news release from the Alaska Court System.
The tribute is scheduled to last until noon and will be followed by a luncheon reception from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in the Treadwell Room of the Baranof Hotel.
The tribute is free and open to the public, and the luncheon costs $20 per person. To RSVP, call 264-0548 by Friday, June 29.
A longtime Juneau attorney and jurist, Boochever served as chief justice for the Alaska Supreme Court from 1972-1980. In 1980, he became the first Alaskan to serve on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He died in October 2011.

One of Alaska's best and brightest. Wish we more like him now and wish there had been more like him in the old days.
There is a certain comfort and pride in having known this man and watched his services to the public.
