What role should the No Child Left Behind testing standards play in the community's evaluation of its public schools?

Not a good question.

The school board does not have a say in what role the NCLB testing standards should play - this is a Federal mandate. The state has some say in what those tests look like, and would likely continue Standards-based testing beyond NCLB. This question solves nothing and is not relevant to the school board's job - it's just a punching-bag opportunity.
