Having a voice in the SB21 debate

Why is Art Hackney throwing a temper tantrum and attacking the signature gatherers for the Oil Giveaway Referendum?

Does he really think it’s outrageous for citizens to take the time to get involved in the political process? Does he actually believe that its “treasonous” to put a highly controversial issue in the hands of the voters?

Isn’t the real reason that it’s going to be a lot harder for oil lobbyists to buy off thousands of voters than a handful of legislators?

The people of Alaska deserve to have a say in such a monumental issue. This is not merely the concern of Art Hackney and the multinational oil producers that choose to do business in our state. According to the Alaska Constitution, we are owners of the resources of our state, and we should have a voice in this debate.
