It is well known that our state of Alaska is in a fiscal crisis. Real solutions are needed.
I agree with the position that the state of Alaska can not solely cut its way out of this crisis.
This is a time for everyone to pull together and not a time for party politics. Our state needs to generate revenue and has no time to waste. This is an emergency and everyone who earns money in Alaska needs to help.
There are many people who make their living from Alaska’s resources, but are not Alaska residents. They should contribute along with us residents to solve Alaska’s fiscal crisis.
I believe that we, the people of the state of Alaska, need to (along with other problem-solving measures) implement the equitable measure of a state income tax.
