Last week, the Alaska State Troopers released a surprising fact.
In 2014, the Juneau Police Department — which oversees a city with a population of 32,000 people — seized almost as many drugs as the Anchorage Police Department, which oversees a population of 301,000.
Measured by street value, JPD seizures totaled $5.8 million. Anchorage seizures totaled $6.2 million. Statewide, police — all police: local, federal and state — seized $28.4 million in illegal drugs.
