JUNEAU — A Norwegian breakfast, also known as Frokost, will be served to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the Juneau Yacht Club.
The event, which is sponsored by the Svalbard Lodge, will include Norwegian specialties such as sour cream waffles, Norwegian eggs supreme, casseroles, Norwegian rolls and geitost cheese and pickled herring. Hot beverages and juices will also be served.
Music will be played by Dale Wygant, accordion and friends and Folk Festival musicians are encouraged to come out and jam. There will be door prizes, cultural displays and children’s activities of Scandinavian games & crafts.
Suggested donations are $15 for adults, $10 for students/seniors and $5 for children.
Svalbard Lodge of Juneau gives a $1,000 scholarship each year to a high school student for her/his post-secondary education and is sponsoring a Walk-A-Thon for The Glory Hole on Saturday, May 28.
