Discovering spring in Southeast

JUNEAU — Local youth, ages 7 to 12, are invited to hike, learn and have fun as they accompany local naturalists with Discovery Southeast in search of signs of spring on Monday, April 25, on North Douglas.

The day will include nature-inspired activities, games, art and more. Transportation is provided and pick-ups are at 8:30 a.m. at Riverbend Elementary School, and 9 a.m. at Harborview Elementary School. Drop-offs are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Harborview, and 4 p.m. at Riverbend.

Students are asked to bring a sack lunch, snacks, water in a backpack and to dress appropriately for the weather. Space is limited. Call 463-1500, to register. Cost to participate is $35 for DSE members and $40 for non-members. Discovery Southeast is a local nonprofit organization. For more information go online to www.discoverysoutheast.org.
