Volunteers needed for trash pick-up effort on N. Douglas

JUNEAU — Last summer the North Douglas Neighborhood Association and Cycle Alaska worked with Dale Gosnell, a City and Borough of Juneau Trail Ranger, to pick up trash weekly in the vicinity of the North Douglas Boat Launch and near False Outer Point. The effort resulted in the removal of more than 2,000 pounds of trash from the area.

The group is planning to clean the area again this summer and is looking for volunteers to help. Volunteers need to only participate for 1-3 hours total over the course of the summer. Trash pick-up will happen once weekly and CBJ will provide bags and will take care of trash disposal. Participants are asked to wear gloves and rubber boots.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Merry, 586-1692, or Dale at 321-2239.
