Walk to raise funds for the Glory Hole

The Glory Hole, Juneau’s local soup kitchen and shelter, is inviting the public to participate in a Walk-A-Thon at 1:30 p.m. at Twin Lakes.

The event aims to raise funds for the local nonprofit. Participants can pledge and then start walking the trail along Twin Lakes from Project Playground to the end and back again, or any length of the trail they are able to walk. Young children can play at Project Playground with parent supervision and still participate in the fundraising effort. After the walk participants can meet at TK McGuire’s for wrap-up of the day’s activities and dinner. The restaurant will be featuring chocolate volcano cake with all proceeds for that day going to The Glory Hole.

The event is sponsored by the Sons of Norway Svalbard Lodge #2-33. For more information call Barbara Wilmot at 790-3038.
