The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is extending their daily tours of the Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute through the end of September.
NOAA’s Alaska Fisheries Science Center has been offering free daily tours at the Lena Point lab all summer. The tours give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at some of the research and innovations being developed locally. The tour includes a Science on a Sphere demonstration featuring some of the work NOAA is involved in from the depths of the ocean to the surface of the sun.
Tours begin at 1 p.m. and run once daily, Monday through Friday through Friday, Sept. 30. Each tour is limited to 12 people ages 16 and older; first-come, first-served.
