Juneau's only ultra race runs Aug. 20

The Southeast Roadrunners are hosting Juneau’s only ultra race on Saturday, Aug. 20.

This 50 kilometer race, fittingly titled the Nifty Fifty, consists of mostly local trails, with portion of the race being on the road. It begins at 9 a.m. at the Eagle Beach picnic shelter. The race finishes in the same location. Participants are invited to run it solo or as a relay on a team of two or three. The course consists of three legs, on the Windfall Lake Trail, the Herbert Glacier Trail and on the road. Pre-register at Pavitt Health and Fitness Center, either location of the JRC/Alaska Club, or at the Nugget Alaskan Outfitter. For more information, email keithblevy@gmail.com.
