Lifeguard training classes kick off at Augustus Brown Pool

Juneau Parks and Recreation has announced a series of lifeguard training classes which run from July 26 through Aug. 16.

Participants must be 15 years old before the end of the course and must be able to pass a swim test prior to enrolling.

Cost to attend the course includes a registration fee of $52.50, payable to the City and Borough of Juneau, and a materials and certification fee of $42.99, payable to the Red Cross.

A mandatory pre-course session will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday at DIPAC.
