The 59th Annual Juneau Ski Swap will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. next weekend, Nov. 12, at Centennial Hall. This fundraising event for the Juneau Ski Club and Juneau Ski Patrol offers locals a chance to exchange, sell or purchase a wide variety of gear, from coats and hats to snowboards.
Items are sold on a consignment basis, with a 20 percent going to the Juneau Ski Club and Juneau Ski Patrol. Sellers must return to the sale at 4 p.m. to claim unsold items; after 5 p.m. a $5 fee will be charged for unclaimed items. To view the consignment form, visit www.juneauskisale.org.
Equipment check in times are from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, from 4:30-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 and from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. Items presented for sale should have a minimum value of $5. All clothing should be clean.
To volunteer for the sale, and get access to the pre-sale, contact Michael Satre at firstname.lastname@example.org. Volunteers must work at least six hours to qualify for the pre-sale.
This event is consistently very crowded, and there is usually a very long line prior to the 10 a.m. opening time; getting there early is highly recommended.
