A matchbook from the old Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center restaurant, where current MGVC naturalist Doug Jones worked during high school. Jones and first ranger KJ Metcalf will be the featured speakers at tonight's Fireside Lecture at the visitor center.

The public is invited to reminisce about the early days of the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center with first ranger KJ Metcalf and summer restaurant employee and current naturalist Doug Jones.

“Do you remember the pies at the Sit’ya?”

Chat will begin at 6:30 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. tonight at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center.

The even is free and the public is invited to attend.
