Final Fireside Lecture highlights historic Salmon Creek dam

The public is invited tonight to a presentation on a historic dam in Juneau's back yard at the Fireside Chat beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center.

Scott Willis, of Alaska Electric Light & Power Co., will present the story of the engineering and construction of the 100-year-old Salmon Creek Dam. Historic photos, records and recollections of early builders form the basis for this program.

This will be the final Fireside Lecture of the 2012 season. As always, this lecture is free and open to the public.
