Davis, Hudson top two-day shoot

The Juneau Gun Club held its annual Spring Two-Day Shoot on Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6. The weather was challenging both days of the shoot with hard rain at times, temperatures in the mid-40s and intermittent gusty winds. Attendance was lower than usual for this shoot with 11 shooters braving the conditions over the weekend.


Saturday’s events included 200 Singles and 50 pair of Doubles. Sunday’s events were 50 pair Doubles and 100 Handicap Targets.


Singles (9 Entries, 200 Targets): “A” Class: Ken Pearson, winner, 196; Forrest Bowers, 190; Pete Hudson, 187. “B” Class: Hank Masters, winner, 190; Jay Davis, 181 and Bud Burnett, 174. “C” Class: Mal Menzies, winner, 173 and Wayne Bertholl, 162. “D” Class: Fred Wilson, Winner, 181.

Doubles (9 Entries, 50 Pair of Doubles): “B” Class: Pete Hudson, winner, 86. “C” Class: Ken Pearson, 94; Jay Davis, 90; Forrest Bowers, 85; Hank Masters, 73 and Fred Wilson, 63. “D” Class: Wayne Bertholl, winner, 85; Bud Burnett, 80 and Mal Menzies, 75.
