Brown bear hunting now closed in Unit 4

In a release yesterday from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, hunters are reminded the brown bear hunting season in Game Management Unit 4 (Admiralty, Baranof, and Chichagof islands) closed May 31.

The release also stated that inside drainages closed May 20 and outside drainages closed May 31.

Successful hunters must report within 10 days of date of harvest and have the bear sealed within 30 days.

Individuals who obtained registration permits for hunting brown bear this spring must complete and return their hunt report cards to ADF&G by close of business June 15, even if they did not hunt.
