Hudson takes JGC trap shoot

Pete Hudson was the high overall winner of the Saturday Juneau Gun Club Amateur Trapshooters Association registered trap shoot, hitting 91.3 percent of the targets.

The shoot took place under variable skies — overcast turned to rain, and back to overcast on the second day of the 66th annual Golden North Salmon Derby. Seven trap shooters participated in the event, which featured three trap events — singles, handicap and doubles.

The results are as follows:

Singles (7 entries)

A Class: Pete Hudson, 99/100 (winner), Mike Curtis, 97/100, Hank Masters, 97/100 and Jay Davis, 95/100.

B Class: Bud Burnett, 95/100 (winner), Wayne Bertholl, 94/100 and Fred Wilson, 94/100.

Handicap (6 entries)

Mid Yardage: Pete Hudson, 87/100 (winner).

Short Yardage: Bud Burnett, 90/100 (winner), Mike Curtis, 89/100, Hank Masters, 86/100, Wayne Bertholl, 81/100 and Fred Wilson, 72/100.

Doubles (6 entries)

B Class: Jay Davis, 91/100 (winner), Pete Hudson, 88/100, Mike Curtis, 87/100 and Hank Masters, 82/100.

C Class: Fred Wilson, 83/100 (winner), Bud Burnett, 81/100 and Wayne Bertholl, 66/100.

High Overall Winner, Pete Hudson, 274/300 (91.3 percent).

Gun Club News

It's nice to see a story like this in the Empire. Reminds us there are still some folks who enjoy activities OTHER than video games, volleyball, skate boarding, legos, vandalizing public property and glue sniffing.
