Historical Photo: Skiing Dan Moller

Skiers enjoy the Dan Moller Ski Bowl, on Douglas Island, between 1939 and 1959. This area served as one of the first ski areas for Juneau. The original ski hill was situated above Gold Creek near Silverbow Basin, near an miner's cabin there. Today, skiers and snowboarders ride at the city-owned Eaglecrest Ski Area, just north of the Dan Moller area.
