JUNEAU — Students can now experience Denali National Park and Preserve from their classrooms.
The park announced Wednesday that it is offering free, interactive lessons via Skype for students in grades three through six.
The programs will be available Monday through Friday, from Nov. 12 until Dec. 14. Spokeswoman Kris Fister says the park can do several sessions a day.
Registration is now open.
A news release says one of the programs, for grades 3-5, will focus on Denali’s sled dogs and what makes them well-suited to living and working in subarctic winter conditions. Another, for grades 4-6, will focus on the geologic processes that created Mount McKinley.
