The Juneau Children Outdoors Coalition is gearing back up with a public meeting from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Bill Ray Center, Cooperative Extension Room 110.
The goal of this meeting, said Kristen Romanoff, a JCOC member, is to provide a forum for sharing ideas and strengthening collaboration between participating agencies.
The meeting is organized as a lunchtime potluck meant to bring attendees together to discuss community needs surrounding the support of children and their families spending time outdoors. Attendees will also discuss collaborative plans for the coming year.
Those interested in attending should bring a dish to share and ideas. The group welcomes new participants.
According to the group’s vision statement, the JCOC envisions Juneau as a community where children and youth are engaged in the natural world, creating a culture of stewardship and healthy lifestyles.
