Kick up your heels at Groundhog Day Barn Dance

A Groundhog Day Barn Dance will be held from from 7:30-11 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 2, at St. Ann’s Parish Hall, 5th and Gold St. Guest dance caller Susie Kendig, recently arrived from Portland, Ore., will call contra dances to live music by The Groundhogs, an old time string band featuring Henry Hopkins, Tom Paul and Greg Burger. All dances are taught and no experience or partners are necessary. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for JIF and AFF members, and $5 for students and seniors. SAGA and JVs get in free.

Buckwheat Classic registration opens

Registration is now open for the 31st annual Buckwheat Ski Classic. The cross-country ski race will be held on March 25 on the Log Cabin Ski Trails north of Skagway and include 50K, 25K and 10K classic races as well as a 5K kids race.
