Local event aims to celebrate Winter Games athletes

The public is invited to attend an event celebrating the accomplishments of past, present and future Southeast Alaskan Arctic Winter Games teams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center.

The event will honor Team Alaska participants and attendees will have a chance to peruse Arctic Games memorabilia and historical artifacts, courtesy of the State Library Historical Archives.

In addition, special guest speaker Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell will have a few words to share.

Appetizers will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.
