SouthEast Alaska Sailing will be hosting their third ‘Sailor Talk’ event of the season from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 at the KTOO television studio, 360 Egan Drive. This month’s topic will be ‘Sail Repair and Maintenance.’
If attendees have sails they wish to inspect or repair, the KTOO television studio is large enough to accommodate sails laid out flat, and a sail-rated sewing machine will be available for quick use. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions of SEAS members about sails. For those who intend to race their sailboat in this season’s SEAS Cup, sails can also be measured for the boat’s PHRF rating at this time.
This event is free and open to the public.
SEAS ‘Sailor Talks’ are an opportunity to share knowledge and stories during the sailing off-season, and the lectures cover a range of topics from boating repairs to safety tips. These public events typically take place on the third Thursday of the month through April.
SEAS promotes boating safety, sponsors several sailboat races, and is a family friendly, community-oriented organization.
