Jeff Sauer to lead JAS Bird Walk on Airport Dike trail

Join Jeff Sauer, with the Juneau Audubon Society, for a Bird Walk on the Airport Dike Trail from 8-10 a.m. on Sunday, May 18.

This public event will offer birders of all abilities the opportunity to learn more about Juneau’s resident and migratory bird populations from local volunteer Sauer.

The group will meet at the end of Radcliffe Road. Attendees should be prepared for the weather and bring binoculars, if available. This event, which is organized by the local nonprofit, the Juneau Audubon Society, is free of charge. No pets, please.

Buckwheat Classic registration opens

Registration is now open for the 31st annual Buckwheat Ski Classic. The cross-country ski race will be held on March 25 on the Log Cabin Ski Trails north of Skagway and include 50K, 25K and 10K classic races as well as a 5K kids race.
