Spring King Salmon Derby standings

Ken Willard Jr. holds up his 28-pound king salmon he hooked on Sunday, May 19 while fishing in this year's Spring King Salmon Derby. Willard is currently in second place, with just over one week left in the derby.

The Spring King Salmon Derby kicked off on May 1 and runs until May 31.


As of Thursday, May 23, Percy Douglas is still holding down first place with a 38-pound king salmon he turned in on Monday, May 9 at Jerry’s Meats and Seafood.

To date, this year’s top five participants in the annual derby include:

1. Percy Douglas, 38 lb, 9:02 a.m., May 9, Jerry’s Meats. (see photo from last week’s Outdoors)

2. Ken Willard Jr., 28 lb, 2:34 p.m., May 19, Jerry’s Meats.

3. Ken Cesar, 25.85 lb, 1:05 p.m., May 15, Jerry’s Meats.

4. Browne Willard III, 25.65 lb, 7:37 a.m., May 6, Jerry’s Meats.

5. Evan Gonzalez, 24.4 lb, 6:55 p.m., May 11, DeHart’s.
