The Juneau’s Trap Club held its only two-day shoot of the calendar year last weekend with the event being an Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) event with PITA Cross Registration permitted.

On Saturday, the hopeful sun never showed itself. The day’s weather started with light rain and increased to a moderately heavy rain, before tapering back to light rain near the final shot of the day. Temperatures remained in the low 40s throughout the day, with light winds.

Ten shooters showed up for the first day’s events. Two of those came all the way from Fairbanks, just to enjoy our refreshing weather.

Day one of shooting consisted of two events — 200 Singles for the first event, followed by 50 Pair of Doubles.

At the conclusion of day one, a shooter and guests BBQ was held. A great time was had with the Fairbanks trap shooters.

Day two started much better, with clear, sunny skies and warm temperatures for event three. But by event four, Juneau’s Mendenhall Valley was overcast, but at least it wasn’t raining.
