Gold Rush Days kick off Saturday at Savikko

The 23rd annual Gold Rush Days, a mining and logging competition, will run from 9a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Savikko Park, in Douglas.

Saturday will kick off the mining events, while Sunday will play host to the logging events.

The weekend-long celebration will also feature food, crafts and informational booths, the Ruth Roberts Children’s Carnival, gold panning and pony rides.
