JGC: trap shoot results

On a beautiful clear cold day, six members of the Juneau Gun Club participated in the second Saturday of the month registered trap shoot event. This month’s event was a Pacific International Trap Association event with Amateur Trap Association cross over scores permitted. The temperatures ranged between 25 and 29 degrees with a bright sunny sky. That bright sunny sky continued through the shoot, but as the sun settled in, the shadows that were cast from our club’s surrounding spruce-hemlock forest played havoc with the shooters seeing the target birds. The scores so reflected.

EVENT 1; 16 YARD SINGLES, SIX ENTRIES: A Class, Mal Menzies, 97; B Class, Bud Burnett, 96; C Class, Greg Jerue, 91, class winner; Lynn Bennett, 83; Fred Bergander, 76 and Hanna Davis, 74.

EVENT 2; HANDICAP; FIVE ENTRIES: Short Yardage, 18 to 21 yards; Bud Burnett, 87 (winner); Greg Jerue, Hanna Davis, 64 and Fred Bergander, 39/50. Mid Yardage, 22 to 24 yards; Mal Menzies, 85.

EVENT 3; DOUBLES; THREE ENTRIES: Bud Burnett, 70, Winner; Mal Menzies, 65 and Fred Bergander, 63.

HIGH OVERALL, Bud Burnett, 253/300 (84.3%)
