Denali State Park opens to snowmobiles

PALMER — Recent snowfalls allowed the opening of the entire area of Denali State Park to the use of snowmobiles on Monday, Nov. 25, according to the release from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources.

Park staff has determined that sufficient snow cover exists to protect underlying vegetation in the park. This opening includes the Curry and Kesugi Ridges and the road corridor south of Byers Lake. The department is asking users to avoid alpine areas that do not have adequate snow cover.

Remember, all snowmobiles must be registered with the Division of Motor Vehicles to legally operate on public land.
