GIRDWOOD — Alyeska Resort will be hosting holiday activities and special events, according to a release from the ski area, with locals and families in mind.
Activities, the release stated, range from special dinners to the start of the night-skiing season.
Santa is scheduled to arrive at Alyeska Resort at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23. There will be photos with kids, holiday cookies, beverages and, of course, holiday spirit. Parents can drop off presents at the front desk of The Hotel Alyeska. Call 907-754-1111 to make arrangements.
The holiday night-skiing schedule begins on Saturday, Dec. 21. Night-skiing includes the Tram, Ted’s Express and Bear Cub Quad from 4-9 p.m. Alyeska will also hold its annual torchlight parade and fireworks show New Year’s Eve at 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. The best viewing is at the Daylodge.
The following holiday special events and promotions will also be taking place at Alyeska Resort:
• Free skiing on Dec. 24 for all guests who wear a complete Santa suit (hat, beard, pants and jacket). To redeem the free lift ticket, go to any Alyeska ticket office.
• Seven Glaciers Restaurant, winner of the AAA Four Diamond Award, will be serving a five-course holiday-themed Chef’s Tasting Menu on Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Dec. 31. Reservations can be made by calling 907-754-2237.
• The Pond Café is offering traditional Christmas and New Year’s holiday buffets on Dec. 25 and 31. Space is limited. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 907-754-2237.
• Alyeska Gift Cards are available online or by calling 907-754-2108. The gift cards can be used throughout Alyeska Resort at restaurants, shops, the spa at Alyeska, as well as on lodging, season passes, and more. Gift cards will also be available at the Alyeska Resort Booth at the Fifth Avenue Mall, open daily from noon to 6 p.m. through Dec. 24.
